Christopher James Lopez was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic and grew up in Queens, NY. He is an Academy Nicholl Quarterfinalist, and Cinequest Best Screenplay Finalist for “The Final Act”, currently in development.
In 2011 Christopher would direct his first short “The Cure,” co-written by Davi Santos. This collaboration would lead them to found Densely Hollow Films, LLC. In 2013, Christopher and Davi were chosen by MySpace as Filmmakers to Watch. Christopher has produced, written, edited, and directed 3 short films that have played at festivals all over the world.
In 2015 Christopher wrote, and directed his first feature film, “Adrift.” The film was successfully produced by him, James Manos Jr., (creator of Showtime’s “Dexter”) and Darlene Rose Javier. The diverse cast includes, Luna Velez (How to Get Away with Murder, Dexter), Tony Plana (Ugly Betty), Davi Santos (Power Rangers), Laura Gomez (Orange is the New Black), and Olga Merediz (The Place Beyond the Pines).
Christopher is currently in pre-production for his second feature- a SAG MLB drama titled “Saudade” about two friends who discover themselves on a journey that spirals out of control. It continues Christopher’s work in showcasing and championing female leads of color. He is producing with Darlene Rose Javier (story), Christopher wrote the screenplay and will also serve as the film’s director and editor. Production is slated to begin 2017.
Christopher studied Architecture at the New York Institute of Technology, but would ultimately graduate with a BA in English.
